5 Wedding Trends to Expect in 2023

To help you plan your big day at the Clayton Hotel Limerick, our team of experienced wedding coordinators share their thoughts on some of the biggest Wedding Trends for 2023.

1. Light and bright wedding décor trends

With everyone trying to put the darkness of the past two years behind them. This year couples are looking for bright spaces with lots of natural daylight and stunning views. 2023 Wedding décor will be predominantly crisp white linens, lots of greenery and subtle flower arrangements with gold accents.

 2. Mid-week weddings

Mid-week weddings have become increasingly popular over the years. A trend that is to keep growing in 2023 & beyond. For couples who may be travelling abroad or guests who are travelling from other countries, it can be very attractive financially. Both flights and accommodation are usually cheaper on midweek dates. Hotels and venues will often have offers on mid-week wedding packages and more date availability.

 3. Sustainable weddings

Going “green” for weddings is becoming more and more important for couples these days. There are many ways this can be achieved but here are some of the main changes we can see;

4. Digital save the dates and invites

Couples are opting to do away with paper invites in favour of digital ones which can be emailed directly to guests. Not only is this cost-effective for the couple but also good for the environment. These invites can be quirky, especially for a tech-savvy couple!

5. Pre-loved wedding dress trends

With everyone increasingly conscious about “Fast-Fashion”, brides are looking for alternatives to a new wedding dress. Some choosing a dress their Mum or even Grandmother wore, and have it altered or even use the fabric to make a vale or flower girl dress. Others are looking to the many fabulous vintages and second-hand wedding dress stores. Barnardos Charity have a Bridal shop, so not only can you buy second hand but also support a charity by doing so.

Other ways to be sustainable

Other little changes couples are making include changing out favours for charity favours, such as a   donation in the guests’ names or choosing locally sourced and grown greenery and flowers instead of fresh-cut flowers.
