Thomond Park Limerick

Thomond Park is the home ground of the Munster Rugby team, who are one of the most successful rugby clubs in the world.   The Munster supporters are also known for being some of the best supporters in the world, so tickets for matches at Thomond park are always in demand and the atmosphere is electric.  This famous venue is known internationally for the unique history it has had.  It was redeveloped and now boasts an increased capacity of 25,600.

Thomond Park is located just a 15 minute walk from Clayton Hotel Limerick.  Clayton Hotel Limerick is the home of the Munster Rugby team, proudly hosting the team before all of their Thomond Park matches.  On a match day, Clayton Hotel Limerick is a hive of activity before and after matches with fans, young and old visiting the hotel, soaking up the atmosphere and hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite players.

Ever since the memorable reopening night of Thomond Park when Munster played the All Blacks in 2008 witnessed by a national television audience of over one million viewers, Thomond Park has been catapulted into the limelight, hosting a huge number of high profile of events that has established the stadium as a world class venue with multi – purposes.

Clayton Hotel Limerick is a short 10 minute drive to Thomond Park or 20 minutes on the bus. If driving by car the following are directions:

Head east on Steamboat Quay onto the Dock Road/N69.  At Shannonbridge roundabout take the 1st exit onto Shannon Bridge and follow R527.  At lights turn right onto Shelbourne Road R/464.  At the roundabout take the second exit.  Turn left onto Cratloe Road.  At the roundabout take the 3rd exit.  Turn left and turn left again and you will arrive at Thomond Park.

Alternatively, if you go via bus, it will take approximately 20 minutes. Get the 302 bus from Henry Street (Dunnes Stores), a 10 minutes walk from the hotel, to Derravaragh Road and disembark at Ballynanty, Thomond Park. From here, it’s a short two minute walk to Thomond Park.
