How to Choose Your Wedding Date
Your wedding date is one of the first things to consider after you get engaged. There are many factors that can influence your decision, milestone dates, weather, bank holiday weekend and much more. We share 3 things you need to consider when choosing the perfect wedding date.
3 Things to Consider When Choosing your Wedding Date
1. Special Dates
Maybe it’s the day that you first met or the day you said yes to the ring or even the date of your parent’s anniversary, there are many different and milestone dates that are special to each couple. Other couples may pick dates around Christmas and New year, New Years Eve is also a very popular wedding day, starting the New Year off as a married couple.
Others love Halloween and the playfulness that you can incorporate into your day.
Bank Holiday weekends are great as you can extend your celebrations if you so wish or have an extra day to recover!
2. Time of Year
Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn…Whether you’re looking for a winter wonderland, fresh days of spring, the summer sun or the stunning colours of autumn this can influence the date you choose for your wedding. Some bride’s have a favourite flower that may only blossom at certain times of the year or you were dreaming of a snowy wedding day and guests sitting by the fire enjoying a mulled wine for your drink’s reception. Or maybe you wanted a chilled relaxed summer BBQ vibe. The season you choose can set the atmosphere for your day.
3. Midweek v’s Weekend
Midweek versus weekend is one a couple should consider when choosing a wedding date. Most couples will instinctively go straight to weekend end dates, however, there are benefits to choosing midweek dates. Usually, hotels and venues will offer better packages and accommodate rate for you and your guests, they may have lower minimum numbers required and will usually have better date availability especially if you wanted to do a pre or post-wedding day.
Often couples will have friends and family travelling from abroad and midweek dates can potentially reduced her flight and accommodation costs.
